inquire for your session
You may choose to cancel your Contract at any time up to 14 days prior to your scheduled Session date. In the event of cancellation, you forfeit your initial retainer and any Session fees you may have paid. Rescheduling is accepted no later than 14 days prior to your scheduled Session date. Any rescheduling done after this 14 day period will be subject to a rescheduling fee. In the event of a reschedule, there is no guarantee of availability in my calendar for future preferred dates.
what is your cancellation & rescheduling policy?
$500 for Portrait Sessions. Retainers are nonrefundable and must be paid to reserve your date(s).

I generally estimate a turnaround time of 4 - 6 weeks to view your Full Gallery. After your Session, your images go through meticulous post processing. Every single image is hand selected, color adjusted, retouched (if necessary), and edited by me. I do not go through third party sources as most other photographers do.
This process and attention to detail takes time. However, I do offer a limited Expedited Preview of fully processed images within the first week as a courtesy to Clients who would like to print & send out announcements in advance, for an additional fee.
I greatly appreciate your patience and excitement, but please refrain from asking whether or not your images are ready before the quoted turnaround timeframe has passed. I promise I will get them to you as soon as I am able!
when will i receive my gallery?

do you offer package rates for booking maternity and newborn sessions together?
At this time, I've chosen to dedicate my time and expertise specializing in Pregnancy & Maternity, Birth Documentary, Newborn, Fresh 48, Baby, and intimate Family portraiture. I believe that specializing allows me to truly serve my clients well.
Do you photograph weddings, engagements, birthday events, reunions, brand portraits, grad & senior photos?
Yes, I offer Expedited Previews of up to 5 High Resolution images for an additional cost. Your Preview will be available for viewing, selection, and purchase after 1 week.
i need to have just one picture for an event or announcement right away! Can you do that?
My Session rates currently only account for immediate family members. If you are interested in including additional extended family (such a grandparents), please let me know so that we can discuss rates. I do not photograph large group or multi-family portraiture.

I try to offer Mini Sessions once a year exclusively to clients who have already previously booked a full Session with me! If you are a past client and interested in hearing more about Mini Sessions, please email me at tiffany@tiffanychiphotography.com to get on the waitlist to be the first to be notified.
do you offer mini sessions?
Yes, I welcome pets to outdoor or in home Sessions provided that they have no behavioral issues or a history of aggression. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in Studio due to allergenic and sanitary precautions.
are pets allowed at sessions?
Not a problem! I would be happy to travel to you. On location / In Home Sessions are an additional rate, plus any additional travel mileage also applies outside of a 30 mile radius of 92835. Please inquire for an estimate if you are outside of the Southern California area.

I recommend for you to reach out as soon as possible (at least 2 months prior to your desired Session Date) if you know that you are interested in booking a Session so that you are sure to obtain and reserve your preferred date(s). As for scheduling, generally from 24 weeks onward for a first time pregnancy, and as early as 22 weeks for subsequent pregnancies.
Newborn Sessions are scheduled approximately 4 weeks after your estimated delivery date, unless you are booking a Fresh 48 Session, which can take place within the first week.
For Collection Bookings, Maternity & Baby Collections are generally scheduled all at once. If you'd like to schedule Baby's First Year, we would discuss further dates as the baby gets older and my calendar opens up for the remainder of the year.

what should we wear?
You may choose to have your Session done on location, in Studio, or in your home. Session location will be discussed and finalized during the planning of your Session(s) together!
where do sessions take place?
Though I do highly recommend professional Hair & Makeup to feel your very best during your Session, I do not offer Hair & Makeup services. I have found that Clients prefer to find and book their own artists based on their personal beauty preferences.
Are Hair & Makeup Services included?
I offer a specially curated Client Wardrobe of limited pieces for expecting and postpartum mothers in sizes M/L. I also have select pieces in baby / toddler sizes. I provide everything for my Newborns. These pieces are reserved for indoor sessions, only.
Do you offer Client wardrobe for all sessions?

I have had many first time clients who have been nervous about their experience, but there is absolutely nothing for you to worry about! I will be gently guiding you through every step of the way. All I need from you is your trust. You’re going to do wonderfully.
i have never done a professional photography session before. how will i know what to do?
Availability greatly varies and is based on present Client and Collection Bookings. Please inquire early.
what is your availability?
I approach all my littlest models with kindness and patience. As a mother of two, I've seen it all, and I’ve learned to work around short attention windows. Sessions can often be very stimulating for young children: new locations, new experience, and a new person pointing a very large camera at them!
No matter how hard we try, sometimes a child is just “done.” I will never force your child to smile, force them into a pose, or do anything that will further upset them if they are already visibly upset. Often, I find that if offered space, they will naturally return and want to be a part of things. If not, that’s okay too! Our little ones are developmentally testing limits and exploring autonomy. It’s all a part of growing up, and it’s a beautiful thing.
If your toddler or baby is having a difficult time, please don’t get discouraged or feel embarrassed. Refrain from reprimands or threats, and instead, comfort and continue to naturally interact with them, please play with them, redirect, get them to engage with you, and laugh a lot! Children often pick up on our emotional cues: if they sense that their trusted grown ups are relaxed and playful, then they will naturally come around.
what if my child has a tantrum or does not cooperate?
My Session rates currently only account for immediate family members. If you are interested in including additional extended family (such a grandparents), please let me know so that we can discuss rates. I do not photograph large group or multi-family portraiture.
do you photograph extended family?
Included with your custom individual Portrait Session, you receive an in depth Session Guide, wardrobe styling & guidance, responsive communication, attentive service & organization, a personalized questionnaire, a courtesy pre-session consultation, a styled session with artistic direction, and 25 fully edited high resolution digital images, with the option to either purchase additional images à la carte, or your Full Gallery. Custom printed products such as Heirloom Albums are also available. Please inquire to review my full list of custom offerings.
WHAT IS included with my session?
Sessions are 1 hour long. Birth / Fresh 48 / Newborn Sessions are 1.5 hours long.
how long do sessions last?
The short answer is no, and please refrain from asking me to. Doing so would not only be a form of plagiarism, but every photographer has their own style and method of photographing, and I would like to believe that you’re interested in working with me because you enjoy my particular style and aesthetic. I kindly ask you to trust me! I would like to be able to create from the moments and people in front of me, rather than feeling as though I need to run through a shot list of poses.
With that being said, I am always open to drawing inspiration from images that speak to you, and I do provide my clients with an avenue of sharing your inspirations through my personalized Client Questionnaire. Please feel free to share what you love, and what inspires you so that I can capture a similar feel in your Session.
I saw this pose on Pinterest / Instagram / Internet. Can you recreate it?
Outdoor on location Sessions generally take place around sunset and exact time will vary depending on the time of year. I am open to sunrise sessions as well, for the early birds — just let me know! In Studio and Home Sessions take place anytime midmorning from 10:00 am - 1:30 pm. Time (and sometimes location) is subject to change based on weather and lighting conditions.

what do i wear?
You’re not alone. I have been through two pregnancies of my own, and can understand being hesitant about capturing our bodies that feel unrecognizable to us. But, I actually hear from many mothers who contact me that wish they would have invested in documenting their pregnancy after their babies were born and it was too late.
This stage of life and your changing body, although oftentimes difficult, is also an incredible part of your love story with your partner, and your family’s story.
Together, we will select clothing that will hide what you are insecure about, and accentuate the features you love! During our Session, I will guide you into the most flattering angles so you won’t have to worry about what you look like. Trust me, these moments are worth capturing.
I am not sure i want to do a maternity session. i'm feeling insecure about my current body, and I’m also a little awkward in front of the camera.
I recommend for you to reach out and inquire as soon as possible if you know that you are interested in booking a Session so that you are sure to obtain your preferred date. As for scheduling, generally from 24 weeks onward for a first time pregnancy, and as early as 22 weeks for subsequent pregnancies, as the belly tends to show much earlier. Please feel free to let me know any special or conditional circumstances relating to your pregnancy.
when is the best time to schedule my maternity session?

You may choose to have your Maternity Session take place in my Studio, at your home, or at an outdoor location. Outdoor and in Home locations are a nominal additional cost.
Please note that before we can schedule an in home Session, an assessment of the lighting within the spaces of your home may be needed to confirm that it will be possible.
The “look” of your Outdoor Session may vary depending on the weather and time of year. For example, if you’re wanting to photograph amidst a field of flowers in the winter, this won’t be possible.
Together, we will discuss your options for a location for your Maternity Session. I have many local locations that I have evaluated and “vetted” that produce beautiful photographs.

I will walk you through the entire styling and planning process, so by the time your Session date is here, you will be completely prepared. I recommend scheduling everything well in advance, so that including your Hair & Makeup artist and an appointment to clean and trim your nails. I often photograph detail shots of hands over your cute baby bump!
how should I prepare for my maternity session?
It is entirely up to you, however, it is important to note that for Outdoor on Location Sessions, there is often no private space for you to change into a second look (and it cuts into our time photographing), unless you are comfortable changing in public.
For in Studio and in Home Sessions, multiple looks may be more feasible, and can be a better option for first time pregnancies because we will have more time. If children / older siblings are participating in your Maternity Session, it can be difficult to photograph multiple looks within our given time frame.
can i wear two looks for my maternity session?

Life happens, and I want you to look back on these photographs and remember the love, not the stress. Generally, because I recommend scheduling around 4 weeks after delivery, we have a little bit of wiggle room when it comes to baby coming a few days earlier or later than anticipated. That’s totally fine! 4 weeks is just a guidepost.
For all clients who have paid a retainer and reserved their dates, if you have had pregnancy or birth complications, I offer no penalty and stress free rescheduling. I work with you to make sure that you don't miss these important moments. Please just communicate with me your needs!
what happens if my baby arrives earlier or later than anticipated?
Luckily, it’s never too late to book a Session. I photograph Newborn Sessions from 1 week up to 8 weeks after birth. If that window of time is missed, we can always still get sweet baby photos from 3 - 6 months. Availability may be limited, however, as priority goes to those who have sent in their contracts and retainers and previously reserved their date.
my baby is here already. can i still schedule a newborn session?
Fresh 48 Sessions are photographed within the first 48 hours to 7 days of birth and are documentary in photography style. They can take place at the place of birth or home. Newborn Sessions are photographed between 2 - 12 weeks after delivery. Baby & Family Sessions are for older babies past the infant / newborn stage.
what is the difference between a fresh 48, newborn, and baby & family session?
I recommend for you to reach out and inquire as soon as possible if you know that you are interested in booking a Session so that you are sure to obtain your preferred date. I recommend scheduling for around 4 weeks after your estimated due date.
when is the best time to schedule my newborn session?

Not at all. Because my Newborn Sessions are natural, unposed, and focus on baby's relationship with parents and siblings, I actually recommend photographing from 4 weeks after delivery to provide mom some recovery time, and family bonding time. I do have a Fresh 48 / Birth Package that I offer, that provides more of a “documentary” style, if these are the kind of images of yours and baby’s first days that you are looking for.
do you need to photograph my baby within 7 - 14 days of birth, like other newborn photographers?
Absolutely, I would be so happy to photograph twins or triplets. There is no additional fee.
do you photograph twins and triplets and is there an additional fee?
I take yours and your family’s health extremely seriously. I am up to date on all of my vaccines, including seasonal flu, TDAP / pertussis, MMR, and am COVID19 vaccinated and boosted. I still self test myself regularly for COVID19 on the mornings of my Sessions. Additionally, I wear a mask and gloves to all of my Newborn Sessions as an extra precaution.
Should there be illness in my family prior to your Session, I will inform you immediately, and we will reschedule your Session for a later time, for your safety. I ask that you please do the same, for my family and other clients.

For in Studio Sessions, I try my best to prepare everything for you, and to anticipate yours and baby’s needs. Please bring supplies for feeding baby if needed, a change of clothes, a pacifier, and some extra burp cloths. For in Home Sessions, please prepare any beds in spaces where we will be photographing, with white sheets.
do I need to prepare or bring anything to my newborn session?
I provide everything necessary for baby. If you would like to bring an additional backup neutral white bodysuit or diaper cover, it’s up to you!
do I need to bring a newborn outfit?
Yes! My Newborn Sessions include all family members and focus on your connection and relationship with baby.
are sibling & family photos included?
I value providing my clients with timeless portraits that can be cherished for generations. I do my best to avoid current trends and prefer to focus on photographing beautiful and authentic moments. I respectfully ask that you refrain from bringing any costumes, signs, or props to your session. They will not be included.
will you use any props?
I offer a specially curated Client Wardrobe of limited pieces for expecting and postpartum mothers. You are more than welcome to choose to wear your own wardrobe as well!

Of course! I often include photographs of nursing mothers during their Sessions, if that is something that they desire. If you would prefer privacy while nursing, please let me know in advance so that I can step out! I welcome and encourage breaks during my Sessions.
can i nurse my baby?
Yes, there is a private area for you to change and use the restroom, if needed. If you plan to change, please plan for some buffer time before your Session start time.
is there space to change?
Yes! I offer a curated selection of maternity, postpartum, and nursing friendly dresses for my mothers and some baby and toddler pieces as well.

I try my best to anticipate your Session needs and to have everything already ready for you! For Newborn Sessions, I provide everything necessary for baby including swaddles, blankets, bows, bonnets, and diaper covers. Please bring supplies for feeding baby if needed, a change of clothes, a pacifier, and some extra burp cloths. For all other Sessions, a backup wardrobe option is always advised just in case. For mothers, I suggest bringing different types of skin colored undergarments, and nursing pads if you are nursing.

Your Session includes standard retouching of blemishes and distracting elements within the image (people, signs, background noise). I do not use Photoshop for any additional physical retouching or slimming and do not accept “special effects” requests.

I have mostly photographed in digital medium, but also have experience in analog film. My experience spans from documentary street photography, to food photography & branding, and obviously, portraiture. My photography style is influenced and informed by the various disciplines that I have practiced over the years and continues to evolve.

No, I do not distribute raw unedited and unprocessed files under any circumstances. Raw files are an initial draft and not a finished product.

You receive printing rights that allows for printing and usage for personal needs: personal use for yourselves or others as gifts, posting on social media with attribution, using your images to decorate, sharing or distributing to family and friends, etc. No image may be altered in any manner. No images may be commercially published, reproduced, or sold for profit.
do we get copyrights or a print release for our photos?
Your Session comes included with an online portal where you can proof & view your watermarked images. Instructions will be given upon delivery, and all images will not be watermarked upon download. All downloads need to be made on a desktop within the designated expiry timeframe. Please reach out if you're experiencing any issues with your downloads.
how do i download my digital images?

are you open to a collaboration?
I have always been a photographer in some form or another. When I first realized that I wanted to specialize in capturing motherhood, it came as a surprise, even to myself. You can argue that most of what we create and put out into the world is a form of self portraiture. In every portrait of a mother I capture, there is also a little bit of myself: seeing my own journey in theirs, and fostering a connection between our shared experience. That connection and desire to understand that every woman’s journey into motherhood is different, is my “why."
There is so much emphasis in our culture around engagement & wedding photography, which is warranted because yes, marriage is a major chapter and transition in our lives, but when it comes to becoming a mother and the radical identity shift that takes place when you start a family, there is little fanfare. Family Photography is pushed to a corner, and reduced to once a year for Christmas Cards, shot on your phone or at birthday parties.
I wanted to provide a way to elevate and capture the beauty of what life after marriage can look like. There is still romance, there is still beauty, there are still moments worth capturing.

Your high resolution images will be in their final state once your Gallery is delivered, at my discretion and style. The Client may not request additional edits of images, including Black and White images to Color, or vice versa.

I generally estimate a turnaround time of 4 - 6 weeks to view your Full Gallery.
After your Session, your images go through meticulous post processing. Every single image is hand selected, color adjusted, retouched (if necessary), and edited by me. I do not go through third party sources as most other photographers do.
This process and attention to detail takes time. However, I do offer a limited Expedited Preview of fully processed images within the first week as a courtesy to Clients who would like to print & send out announcements in advance, for an additional fee.
I greatly appreciate your patience and excitement, but please refrain from asking whether or not your images are ready before the quoted turnaround timeframe has passed. I promise I will get them to you as soon as I am able!

I approach all my littlest models with kindness and patience. As a mother of two, I've seen it all, and I’ve learned to work around short attention windows. Sessions can often be very stimulating for young children: new locations, new experience, and a new person pointing a very large camera at them!
No matter how hard we try, sometimes a child is just “done.” Often, I find that if offered space, they will naturally return and want to be a part of things. If not, that’s okay too! Our little ones are developmentally testing limits and exploring autonomy.
If your toddler or baby is having a difficult time, please don’t get discouraged or feel embarrassed. Refrain from reprimands or threats, and instead, comfort and continue to naturally interact with them, please play with them, redirect, get them to engage with you, and laugh a lot! Children often pick up on our emotional cues: if they sense that their trusted grown ups are relaxed and playful, then they will naturally come around.

The “look” of your Outdoor Session may vary depending on the weather and time of year. For example, if you’re wanting to photograph amidst a field of flowers in the winter, this won’t be possible.

You’re not alone. I have been through two pregnancies of my own, and can understand being hesitant about capturing our bodies that feel unrecognizable to us. But, I actually hear from many mothers who contact me that wish they would have invested in documenting their pregnancy after their babies were born and it was too late.
This stage of life and your changing body, although oftentimes difficult, is also an incredible part of your love story with your partner, and your family’s story.
Together, we will select clothing that will hide what you are insecure about, and accentuate the features you love! During our Session, I will guide you into the most flattering angles so you won’t have to worry about what you look like. Trust me, these moments are worth capturing.

I will walk you through the entire styling and planning process, so by the time your Session date is here, you will be completely prepared. I recommend scheduling everything well in advance, so that including your Hair & Makeup artist and an appointment to clean and trim your nails. I often photograph detail shots of hands over your cute baby bump!
How do I prepare for my Maternity Session?
It is entirely up to you, however, it is important to note that for Outdoor on Location Sessions, there is often no private space for you to change into a second look (and it cuts into our time photographing), unless you are comfortable changing in public.
For in Studio and in Home Sessions, multiple looks may be more feasible, and can be a better option for first time pregnancies because we will have more time. If children / older siblings are participating in your Maternity Session, it can be difficult to photograph multiple looks within our given time frame.

Luckily, it’s never too late to book a Session. I photograph Newborn Sessions from 1 week up to 8 weeks after birth. If that window of time is missed, we can always still get sweet baby photos from 3 - 6 months. Availability may be limited, however, as priority goes to those who have sent in their contracts and retainers and previously reserved their date.

Fresh 48 Sessions are photographed within the first 48 hours to 7 days of birth and are documentary in photography style. They can take place at the place of birth or home. Newborn Sessions are photographed between 2 - 12 weeks after delivery. Baby & Family Sessions are for older babies past the infant / newborn stage.
What's the difference between a Fresh 48, Newborn, and Baby & Family Session?
Not at all. Because my Newborn Sessions are natural, unposed, and focus on baby's relationship with parents and siblings, I actually recommend photographing from 4 weeks after delivery to provide mom some recovery time, and family bonding time. I do have a Fresh 48 / Birth Package that I offer, that provides more of a “documentary” style, if these are the kind of images of yours and baby’s first days that you are looking for.

Life happens, and I want you to look back on these photographs and remember the love, not the stress. Generally, because I recommend scheduling around 4 weeks after delivery, we have a little bit of wiggle room when it comes to baby coming a few days earlier or later than anticipated. That’s totally fine! 4 weeks is just a guidepost.

I provide an in depth Session Guide that will inform you of everything needed and how to prepare for your Newborn Session, as well as a detailed email with important reminders on the week of your Session.
For in Studio Sessions, I try my best to prepare everything for you, and to anticipate yours and baby’s needs. Please bring supplies for feeding baby if needed, a change of clothes, a pacifier, and some extra burp cloths. For in Home Sessions, please prepare any beds in spaces where we will be photographing, with white sheets.

I take yours and your family’s health extremely seriously. I am up to date on all of my vaccines, including seasonal flu, TDAP / pertussis, MMR, and am COVID19 vaccinated and boosted. I still self test myself regularly for COVID19 on the mornings of my Sessions. Additionally, I wear a mask and gloves to all of my Newborn Sessions as an extra precaution.
Should there be illness in my family prior to your Session, I will inform you immediately, and we will reschedule your Session for a later time, for your safety. I ask that you please do the same, for my family and other clients.
What health precautions do you take?
I offer a specially curated Client Wardrobe of limited pieces for expecting and postpartum mothers. You are more than welcome to choose to wear your own wardrobe as well!

I photograph using the Canon camera body ecosystem with the highest quality Canon lenses, and occasionally premium Sigma Art lenses. I photograph digitally, with a film aesthetic.

Your high resolution images will be in their final state once your Gallery is delivered, at my discretion and style. The Client may not request additional edits of images, including Black and White images to Color, or vice versa.

Doing so would not only be a form of plagiarism, but every photographer has their own style and method of photographing, and I would like to believe that you’re interested in working with me because you enjoy my particular style and aesthetic.
