This is our second pregnancy. I didn’t plan to take maternity photos with my first pregnancy, because I thought I was getting too big and didn’t really think that far in advance…
But, with the experience of delivering him at 30 week’s gestational, my husband and I were quickly thrown into being NICU parents and having to navigate the highs, lows, and uncertain first few weeks of being parents with a child in the hospital.
Thankfully, we have been blessed and Ethan is a thriving growing boy and we are grateful for how far he’s come.
The anxiety and PTSD from our first pregnancy is definitely palpable but we try to keep it in the background. After experiencing the trauma of having a premie baby, I wanted to make sure that we document, or at least plan to document this pregnancy since it will be our last.
