"Les photographes s'occupent de choses qui disparaissent continuellement et quand elles ont disparu, rien sur terre ne peut les faire revenir."
As an Orange County Maternity, Newborn, and Family Photographer with a Fine Arts degree from UCLA, I have spent years studying and training in painting, conceptual art, and both digital and analog photography.
Artistry has always been at the heart of everything I create — not just in how I photograph, but in how I see and shape every detail of the portrait experience. My work is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for fine art and storytelling.
When it came time to refine the experience inside my Fine Art Photography Studio, I knew I wanted something truly one-of-a-kind for my families: custom, hand-painted portrait backdrops.
Rather than purchasing mass-produced options, I returned to my roots — brush in hand — and personally designed and painted three large-scale fine art backdrops, crafted exclusively for my natural light studio sessions.
This project was not only a labor of love but also a reflection of my belief that every element of a portrait should be intentional, beautiful, and timeless.
Before even touching a brush, I spent weeks researching the best materials. I needed something large enough for wide compositions, but versatile enough for my intimate studio space. I selected 9×12 durable artist’s canvas.
Next came the colors. Hundreds of swatches, countless tests under natural studio light, and custom blending led me to the perfect trio:
The painting itself was a true journey — priming, layering, hand-blending paints for subtle texture and depth — each backdrop crafted carefully to photograph beautifully under my natural light settings.
The entire process took five days of hands-on work and attention to every detail, just like the experience I offer my clients.
Most photography studios rely on generic backdrops, but your story deserves more. These custom-painted canvases are not just backgrounds — they are pieces of fine art designed to frame and enhance your portraits with a timeless, heirloom quality.
Whether you are booking a Fine Art Maternity Session, a Newborn Portrait Session, or a Baby & Family Studio Experience, these hand-painted backdrops add a level of authenticity, artistry, and refinement that simply cannot be replicated.
You can view more about my curated Studio experience here and see how these backdrops help create luminous, soulful portraits that feel like paintings.
Your portrait session should feel like stepping into a work of art — because it is. If you are seeking a Fine Art Maternity Photographer or a Fine Art Newborn & Baby Photographer who values craftsmanship, intentionality, and beauty at every level, I would be honored to create something timeless for you.
