I’m beyond excited to share a Natural Light Maternity Gallery with you that is close to my heart as an Orange County maternity photographer. Julia reached out to me early in her second pregnancy to reserve a Maternity and Newborn Photography Collection Package. She and her husband Frank were delighted and surprised to be expecting after they had their first son, Nathan. Julia and Frank had some difficulties growing their family due to chronic illness and health conditions.

In her own words, Julia describes her experience:

Before becoming a mother, I did not appreciate what it took to become one. Our struggles trying to conceive tested us in ways I was not prepared for. The longer it took, the more it felt like motherhood was a far-off dream. It also taught me about a love for someone that is not even in existence yet.

Nathan has been our miracle and we are so grateful he chose us to be his parents. We decided to try again to grow our family, but unfortunately had a loss in 2021. Fortunately and surprisingly, we found out in January 2022 that we will be expecting a little brother for Nathan.

You can imagine our surprise as after our experience with Nathan and loss, we were skeptical of even becoming pregnant again. We are so grateful for these 2 boys and cannot wait for Nathan to meet his little brother!

The struggles that mothers go through are often behind closed doors — in our bedrooms, in our bathrooms, and silently praying in church pews. Our tears go unnoticed and unseen because we quickly wipe them away to show up to the expectations of modern society where we must maintain composure. We either have other children to take care of, work to complete, our own health to maintain, and so many other responsibilities on our shoulders. Yet the pain is real and present. Lives in our souls, and in our bones. It changes and transforms us, even if ever we go on to carry other children.

I believe that it is so important for us to talk about our grief, and our loss. I believe in creating space and a community for mothers to share their struggles, and for our support people and partners to be involved, attuned, and empathetic towards this grief. It is so important to our healing journeys and ultimately honors the children we have lost. I am so glad that Julia and Frank were able to support and lean on one another through the trials and struggles that they have been through and emerged stronger, together.

I love photographing natural and authentic images for you to look back on and remember these fleeting moments. We photographed this Natural Light Maternity Session in nature at sunset in Orange County. As an Orange County Maternity Photographer, I am always looking for the perfect organic landscapes to photograph my families. For their natural Orange County Maternity Session, Julia and Frank also wanted to include their little pup Mia along with, of course, little Nathan, who was a ball of energy and excitement! We had a ton of fun running around in the dirt with mom’s white dress and dad’s white dress shirt, haha! 😉

Julia wanted to capture images of Nathan that really expressed his sweet and silly personality, so I made sure to include plenty. After all, they really grow up so fast. This silly and carefree stage of their childhood is my absolute favorite. Like all toddlers with new experiences, Nathan was a little nervous at first, but quickly warmed up during the Session, and we were able to have so much fun!

Nathan is a social, adventurous and mischievous little one, although it sometimes takes a little bit for him to warm up to you. He is very active and doesn’t seem to know how to walk as he is always running instead. He loves smiling and laughing and we hope we can capture his silliness and his sense of wonder.

It truly is so important to me for my families to feel taken care of, and that includes having their stories captured with care and gratitude. We never know what another person has been through to get to where they are in the exact moment of life that you meet them, and it is so important for me to connect, listen, and relate as a mother, as a woman, as a fellow human. I never take any exchange of trust from my clients for granted.

After our Session, Julia was so kind to leave these sweet words of our experience together:

Tiffany is such a pleasure to work with! She is a wonderful, warm and kind-hearted person and her passion, attention to detail, creativity and vision is reflected in her work. She was so patient and understanding during every step of the way, from the initial consultation, to deciding outfits/inspiration, to the actual photo session and follow up.

I felt comfortable contacting her with any of my silly questions and ideas and she always responded quickly with great guidance and detail. You feel seen and heard when with her and her personal touches really made our experience so special.

Especially as we aren’t too comfortable in front of the camera and have an active toddler and anxious pup, she was so comforting in helping us enjoy the session. We loved the photos from our maternity photoshoot and are so grateful she was able to capture so many moments as we anticipate the arrival of our little one.

We can’t wait to work with her again for our newborn session!
