A couple of months ago, I introduced my Compassion Session initiative on social media. The initiative was borne out of a desire to come alongside a fellow mother to celebrate her life, and her story: to help her feel seen, valued, and loved.

This year has been a difficult year for all of us.

Uncertainty hangs in the air, and everyday we breathe more in, feeling powerless to do anything but hope everything passes, and that we are safe. This virus does not discriminate, and we are all susceptible. What greater representation of our humanity is there, other than our collective capacity to love, to fear, to fall ill, to feel pain, to want to protect those we love?

The pandemic has called us to reflect upon what connects all of us: an exercise in our compassion for one another.

Meeting Lezlie & her family has been such a wonderful blessing amidst everything happening. I truly believe that God extravagantly loves each and every one of us, and that he introduces people and relationships in our lives as a display of His love.

Thank you, Lezlie, for not only allowing me to capture your beauty and the beauty of the life that is growing inside you, but also for inviting me into your family & your story.

I am truly grateful for you, friend.

My hope & prayer is that these photographs remind you that you are an amazing mother, and that they will allow you to remember these beautiful fleeting moments for years to come.
