As an Orange County Pregnancy and Newborn Photographer, I talk endlessly about how much I love photographing my Maternity & Newborn Collection families. My Collections conveniently offer you the ease and freedom of choice of photographing multiple Sessions. From Pregnancy, Newborn, to other important first year milestones such as half year / 6 months and First Birthday. Being able to photograph the important milestones of your baby and family’s first moments together brings me so much joy. Not only are you able to work with me throughout the entire process, but there is also the added benefit of consistency in style and photography process. It can often be stressful to work with someone new, but reserving multiple Sessions allows us to create a mutual relationship in which we collaborate to make some beautiful art together. Lastly, there is also the additional benefit of being able to photograph in different locations, if a different look is what you desire. Conversely, you may choose to photograph in the same location for all of your Sessions (such as within my natural light Studio), for a seamless and clean look throughout our time together. You have the option of printing some beautiful wall art for your home or a timeless Heirloom Album with a cohesive set of classic images.
The Kuo family decided to photograph their Maternity Session in an outdoor natural location, and their natural Newborn Session within my natural light Studio. Some clients love having the option for variety. Their Maternity Gallery is full of light and airy natural and organic images, while their Newborn Gallery is crisp, clean, and minimal. Nevertheless, you will see that both Galleries have the same soft threads that bind them together into a cohesive set of artwork.
Julia shares a bit of their family’s story in her own words:
Frank and I had very similar beginnings growing up – we were both born at UCSF, grew up in California, spent a lot of time in Taiwan during our childhoods, went to UCLA for undergrad, went to the same medical school – but it wasn’t until we both started residency in 2014 when we really got to know each other. Despite the long-distance during the first year of our relationship, we grew close and made it a priority to see each other as much as possible, despite our unpredictable schedules.
During that first year of our relationship, I was suddenly diagnosed with a chronic illness (Multiple Sclerosis) that has forever changed my life. Frank not only became my cheerleader and strength, but continued to plan our lives together despite knowing how this would affect him. During difficult times, he encouraged me and gave me hope. We were married in 2017 surrounded by our amazing friends and family.
Soon after, we decided that we wanted to grow our family. This proved to be one of the greatest challenges we had to face, in addition to my illness. Each month was filled with tears and frustration as we faced another failed attempt. We decided to adopt Mia, our rescue puppy, in 2019 and after 3 years of heartache and struggles, we finally had our wish come true. Nathan was born in 2020 and has brought so much joy into our lives.
Fast forward to 2021, we decided to try again to expand our family. After suffering a loss, we were surprised with news that we will be expecting a little brother for Nathan. They will be 2 years apart (almost exactly!). We could not be more thrilled!
As we were unable to have the experience we had hoped for with Nathan given the pandemic, we hope that with this little one, we can capture more moments of our family and our love for them. We are so grateful for each of them and hope they will be able to look at the photos from this session and know how loved they are.
I hope for them to be joyful, kind, respectful and true to themselves and never lose their lust for life and sense of wonder.
