As an Orange County pregnancy photographer, Victoria reached out to me to reserve a Maternity and Newborn Photography Collection Package to be able to capture all of the important milestones and changes happening in their new family. She and her husband David were thrilled to be expecting shortly after their pandemic wedding in 2020. Like many other engaged couples during the pandemic, Victoria and David had to adjust their plans and expectations, and unfortunately delay celebrations for their union. Thankfully, not long after they officially tied the knot, they decided to expand their family as well as move into a new home together!

Within the span of two short years, Victoria and David got engaged, survived a global pandemic, had two wedding ceremonies, purchased, renovated, and moved into a new home, and had their first baby! I have heard it said that the top three most stressful and life-changing events in a person’s life is:

1. Wedding Planning
2. Having a Baby
3. Moving

It’s amazing that the Doan Family managed to accomplish all three in such a short amount of time! However, it seems that the bright side is that through the pandemic, Victoria and David were able to grow closer to overcome the challenges and struggles they were going through as a couple, together, and that is certainly something to be treasured.

I love photographing natural and authentic images for you to look back on and remember these once in a lifetime milestone moments together as you continue your love stories and begin your families. We photographed this Natural Light Maternity Session at some beautiful open fields in Orange County. Victoria had originally envisioned a Session with the golden hues of sunset, however, on the day of our Session, skies were overcast and cloudy, lending images that were more light, airy, and dreamy. When working with natural light, sometimes we need to hold our expectations and vision loosely, because we have to work around the weather! However, even though skies were cloudy, these happen to be some of my favorite images to capture!

As an Orange County Pregnancy Photographer, I am always looking for the perfect organic landscapes to photograph my families. For their natural Orange County Maternity Session, Victoria and David wore beautiful neutral white and gray tones. I had brought a floral bouquet with a delicate chiffon ribbon to complement their beautiful neutral and minimal tones, which added a feminine and romantic touch to the landscape of dry brush. California had had a very dry season coming out of a years long drought!

It truly is so important to me for my families to feel taken care of, and that includes having their stories captured with care and gratitude. We never know what another person has been through to get to where they are in the exact moment of life that you meet them, and it is so important for me to connect, listen, and relate as a mother, as a woman, as a fellow human. I never take any exchange of trust from my clients for granted.
